Connect Program

The Connect Program is all about building meaningful connections between mentees (high school students) and mentors (undergraduate students) who can guide them through important academic and personal decisions.

As a mentor, you'll help students navigate many topics like college applications, choosing the right classes, finding and choosing extracurricular opportunities, and preparing for the next steps in their academic journey.

This program is not overly structured!! It’s supposed to be a casual and supportive space where high school students can ask basic questions about college and life beyond school. Conversations should be flexible and tailored to each mentee’s unique needs, making it a valuable experience for both mentors and mentees :)

Whether you’re a mentor sharing your experiences or a mentee seeking guidance, the Connect Program is designed to encourage growth, learning, and confidence for everyone involved!
How it Works: Step by Step
Step 1: Apply as a Mentor or Mentee
-
Fill out the application form according to your role. Mentors provide details about their professional background, areas of confidence, and availability. Mentees share their goals, interests, and what they hope to gain from the program.
Step 2: Get Matched and Begin Your Journey
-
Once applications are reviewed, our team pairs mentors and mentees based on shared interests, goals, and areas of confidence. You’ll receive an introduction email to establish communication.
Step 3: Grow Together
-
Build a meaningful relationship through regular check-ins and shared learning experiences.

This outline below is just a flexible guide to help mentors and mentees who aren’t sure what to talk about during their meetings!
You don’t have to stick to this schedule — feel free to go with the flow, explore different topics, or spend more/less time on certain areas depending on what feels right.
There’s no pressure to cover everything or have a set number of meetings — some pairs might meet more often, while others may prefer fewer, more in-depth conversations. Use this as inspiration and adjust as needed to maximize your experience!
